A new beginning for the TTT

In 2026, the Trail by Train Tour (TTT) will continue to bring together trail running events, all of which start near a train station. But a second criterion has been added. Each TTT event undertakes to calculate its transport carbon footprint (which accounts for nearly 80% of the total footprint) per participant and commits to reducing it through concrete actions. The TTT is a European tour of trail running events close to train stations, but it is also becoming a quality label.

Trail race organizers and participants are, almost by definition, nature lovers. Unfortunately, they sometimes contribute to harming the environment when they forget to include sustainable transportation in the equation or when trail runners travel long distances in gas-powered cars. The new TTT circuit was conceived in 2023 to remedy these pitfalls.

In 2026, at least 13 very diverse and exciting events joined the TTT.
